Steve and Claire's 'Finally' Wedding At The Mytton & Mermaid, Shrewsbury...
Some people are meant to be together, thats’s a cliche, I know, but it’s also a fact. And no one more than Claire and Steve…
I met them back in March to discuss their April Wedding - and they told me that they’d been married before - to each other and had split, but were back together and were together forever now…and wanted to make it official and get married again. So all was set up, list were made, plans were put to paper, I started thinking through my shots and where to take the couple for portraits…and then…COVID.
Yeah, COVID. Lockdown. Postponements rolled in through the emails and on the phone, and Claire contacted me to inform that due to the lockdown, their date had been put back to the end of August. And then in June she messaged me again to move their date back again to December. Three dates in one year…and then HOPE! The restrictions were eased and weddings of under 30 could take place…and as their wedding was only 21 people they were back on! Was I free for the end of August…Hell YES I was!
And so on Saturday, 29th August 2020, following all the rules and restrictions, with their 19 guests and their photographer wearing masks and their two Registrars wearing visors Claire and Steve finally tied the knot. Again.
One wedding, one divorce, three children between them, four wedding dates and a whole lot of worry, stress and a deadly virus later…they were married again.
They were married at the Mytton and Mermaid, just outside Shrewsbury, a gorgeous fine dining pub with a beautiful outside/inside courtyard covered with a glass roof meaning that even in the rain couples can be ‘outside’. Decorated with ivy and white roses, whilst their guests sat at designated chairs in ‘table bubbles’ Claire was walked down an ivy laid aisle by her father to meet Steve, where they became husband and wife. Again.
But enough of their story - here are the sneak peak pictures I sent to them the very next day…
