The Mill Barns - Alveley, Bridgnorth, Shropshire.

I absolutely love photographing weddings at The Mill Barns, Aveley near Bridgnorth, Shropshire - when I am lucky enough to be a recommended supplier! Despite its rustic appearance and characterful charm it’s actually a purpose built wedding venue where real thought has been put in to creating spaces for weddings and for couples and their guests on a wedding day.

Two main barns - The Ceremony Barn and The Wedding Breakfast Barn, branch off a central hub to give you absolutely acres of space inside - and even more outside with a lakeside garden that is fabulous for photos no matter what the season. And speaking of the seasons, no matter what the weather The Mill Barns can cope with loads of people inside or out. If you are unfortunate not to get great weather on your wedding day, at other venues, you can sometimes miss out on those all important group family shots, simply because they don’t have the space for them.

But with The Mill Barns you can make use of the Ceremony Barn for pictures of all of your family - whilst those not needed for pictures can still enjoy a drink at the bar, and then the many nooks and alcoves of the whole building can be used for portraits of yourselves and of course the covered decking can be used with the back drop of the lake and the gardens if you want to be outside but still under cover.

Outside is where The Mill Barns shines though. The garden, with the cutest little bridge over the stream feeding the lake, a terrace with delightful paths and a grassed area with a full on gorgeous cherry tree (one for blossom in a spring wedding) and gorgeous planting all round means that me, as a Shropshire Wedding Photographer, is spoilt for choice to give you just the very best photographs - in the day or the night, and then there is the front foot bridge over the water that will give your guests a real ‘wow’ moment as they arrive and you some beautiful photographs with the building lights reflected in the waters surrounding the venue.
I’ve been so lucky that The Mill Barns is probably my most visited venue - and for good reason. When you are there you have brilliant staff who put you first and for whom nothing is too much trouble, and you have the fabulous barns and grounds to explore for photos. But there’s a special secret to The Mill Barns - and that is it’s accommodation - 13 bedrooms for you and your guests are all fully specced out to give you all the deserved luxury after your big day - and that use is exclusive to you and them - the Barn’s isn’t a hotel and you have exclusive use - and of course can enjoy a delicious breakfast the morning after!

When you are getting ready you aren’t cramped into a bedroom either - the purpose built bridal prep Dressing Room with massive mirror and vanity bulbs around it means your hair and make up team for you and your bride-tribe will be looking absolutely stunning and ready to go for the biggest day of your life.
